Amalfi Coast in the Middle Ages |
The
event "Amalfi Coast in the Middle Ages" proposes theater,
music and local culinary specialties with all participants
wearing medieval costumes that accurately reflect those
worn from the medieval period to the Renaissance. "Costa
d’Amalfi in the Middle Ages" takes place in one
of the loveliest settings of the area, honoring its historical
importance and respecting the sensitivity of the architecture

of the Gods") proposing music concerts on the squarebefore
the church of Santa Maria a Castro, which is situated on the
famous trekking way called 'Path of the Gods';

2000 candles on the churchyard of the church ' Santa Maria

of Praiano are illuminated by candles to celebrate a tradition
recalling a dream made by the mother of Saint Dominick before
giving birth to her child, the saint. In this dream she saw a
dog that fired the world with a torch: a metaphor of
the future life and importance of Saint Dominick, who spread
the word of Jesus worldwide.
